Ismo Alanko - Kun Suomi Putos Puusta (English translation)

English translation

When Finland fell off the tree

When Finland fell off the tree it was a beautiful Sunday in summer
Stunned human child changed straw to parque
Snot runs from sweaty cheek bones all over
Koskenkorva leads the pious nation to nirvana

Karelian crook eye looked into monitor
Litmas-Unto bought a bottle of Beajoulais for misery
Savonian junior went to acid house,
Took rogut as starters and went on with some more

When Finland fell off the tree everything happened suddenly
No pig was seen, not even the poke
When Finland fell off the tree "milk" was milk
Jig catch frozen food, the nights were "black"
When Finland fell off the tree everything happened so suddenly

A bog,hoe and Jussi
Martin Luther and plastic bag
Germany and Sweden and Russian sighed
Like from the same mouth
When Finland fell off the tree

When Finland fell off the tree chronometer was seven
At eight leg was broken for living standard competion
One leg in the barn, another one at the tennis court
One hand on an udder, another one on remote

Forester ass-kisser is whisking a mouth bigger than his
Happiness catches the datanome in the darkness of smoke sauna
Veijo Hämäläinen is making a chinese pizza,
Claims hansa treat of Kolumbus in the name of bundle of twigs

When Finland fell off the tree everything happened suddenly
No pig was seen, not even the poke
When Finland fell off the tree "milk" was milk
Jig catch frozen food, the nights were "black"
When Finland fell off the tree everything happened so suddenly

A bog,hoe and Jussi
Martin Luther and plastic bag
Lapland and Kainuu and Karelian sighed
Like from the same mouth
When Finland fell off the tree

When Finland fell off the tree everything happened suddenly
No pig was seen, not even the poke
When Finland fell off the tree "milk" was milk
Jig catch was frozen food, the nights were"black"
When Finland fell off the tree everything happened so suddenly

Author's comments:

Parts in the captions are used in the original lyrics to emphasize how English words were borrowed to Finnish vocalabury. Koskenkorva is booze,"A bog,hoe and Jussi" refers to a series of books called "Pohjantähden alla"(under the northern star) There are other references too of course

Finnish

Kun Suomi Putos Puusta

A very good translation in many ways. Regular smile I think that the line "ei nähty itse sikaa eikä edes säkkiä" refers to the expression "ostaa sikaa säkissä". I wanted to check it from my dictionary and according to that it goes in English "to buy a pig in a pole". If all that's true then we could have as a translation "No pig was seen, not even the pole". How do you see it?

And would it be beaujolais (wine) also in English, maybe with the first letter capitalized?

You mean "buy pig in a poke"? You are probably right about the wine. Thanks for corrections,as always(:

"Saksa ja Ruotsi ja Venäjä huokas" was translated as "Germany and Russian sighed". What happened to Sweden? Regular smile
