(Liáng liáng) (English translation)

Winter on the heart

Versions: #1#2
As life goes on, our days of happiness become surreal, our lovesickness building up as silent contemplation
In your constant reflection and rumination you are only wasting what is left of your life
After all, how can you forget if you are constantly thinking about it

Our brilliant days of love, now dead, I don’t understand how you got over this in our past life of love
How do you pretend this vast sea of panic and uncertainty doesn’t hurt?
How do you pretend that it’s all an illusion?
Now, long after our love and still deep in pain my longing for you manifests as a river of tears
Gradually exhausting my sorrow, comforting me
Our time together though short, will forever leave it’s imprint on my life
And my overwhelming feelings for you are still as present as ever
Cruel fate leaves me alone with my love for you
Permeating into the mortal world, wounding my mortal self
While the physical trials of this world may be easy, those of love are hard to overcome
In my heart, battered and worn by heartbreak, I wonder how much of this is a stubborn hatred from the past life, that won’t let me move on?
How much of this
Is hatred from my previous life?

I’m old now, and have given up on ruminating over you
How can I waste the exhaustingly long remaining time of my lifespan...
Maybe by revoking attachment to anything
(Revoking attachment)
And instead, trying to live it so not in vain
Our once brilliant love is dead, yet my life is gradually getting less painful
I have left the minimum memory of our love that will allow us to be together in the next life in my heart, and have removed all that which only causes me sorrow
(Together in the next life)
Where we can indulge in the joys and sorrows of love without being swept away by the strength of our passions
In my heart, battered and worn by love, I wonder how much of this is a stubborn hatred from the past life, that won’t let me move on?
These three lives of mine have passed so quickly
The breeze from their swift departure drying my remaining tears
If I can only remember you, and never be with you again then I would rather our love die out
Our time spent together, I long for the day that it will bloom again
When life will be filled with renewed excitement and freshness
My love is unrequited
But I will not let emotions taint the purity of my love
I want to be with you forever

Thanks!
