Original lyrics

Translation
The Kisses of my Dark Woman
The kisses of my dark woman are bitter,
and more bitter than the law of treachery.
You swore that you loved me, however,
you no longer have a heart within your breast.
You no longer have a heart within your breast.
The kisses of my dark woman are bitter,
and more bitter than the law of treachery.
You swore that you loved me, however,
you no longer have a heart within your breast.
You no longer have a heart within your breast.
And, who could give you a kiss,
and clip the wings of your spirited soul.
How easy it is to love, since one forgets,
you no longer have a heart, nor do you give.
You no longer have a heart, nor do you give.
Everything ends, woman, in this life -
wealth, love, and beauty.
How easy it is to love, since one forgets,
peace will only come in the grave.
Peace will only come in the grave.

Author's comments:
I spent a lot of time figuring out what was said in the first line of the third stanza, because the lyrics accompanying the CD in Spanish had errors. This line was also difficult to translate into English. Thanks to my friends at Spanish Dict, I think I now have the correct Spanish lyrics and the correct English translation for this beautiful, beautiful song sung by Lydia Mendoza. This song is truly stuck in my head!

I stumbled on this cd at the library and checked it out. It's very good! There are 24 songs on it. That should keep me busy for awhile. I found quite a few mistakes in the English translations of the songs in the booklet that accompanied the cd.
