English translation

Mid-Evening

Now I have come home
After a journey on the deep seas.
The wave was so high,
The saltiness ate everything up.
I drowned in a black hole,
I pulled at the hand of death.
So high, it was so high,
And the moon lighted a path, yes the moon high in the sky,
And the moon lighted a path, yes the moon lighted a path.
So high, so high, wave of the sins, wave of the sins.

Hi, just a small correction. Verse #6 would translate to "I took the hand of death." Also in verse #7 "hún" is feminine. It is best translated "she" not "it". Cheers!

Hi, thanks for your comment. I would beg to differ though, the verb on verse 6 is að taka í and not að taka, which makes a little difference in the meaning. Also, even though hún is indeed a feminine in Icelandic, wave is not feminine in english and I chose to keep the english neutral purposely (the word just happens to be feminine in icelandic, it is not a figure of speech of any kind).
