[@Aldefina], I know you requested a rhyming translation, but it's hard to do that without breaking Portuguese grammar and syntax in this specific case. I'll try to think of other ways to translate it.
EDIT: This seems to be better - but it does not necessarily reflect what you had written. It means something like 'It's on October 15th - and not earlier / That this will work - we are aware'. I could've used the 1st person ('estou ciente'), but it would not rhyme with 'antes'.
I wrote this "piece of art" when I was studying in the Soviet Union. It was my first student's year in Moscow. At the beginning of October the temperatures lied well below 0, yet the heating was not working. When I asked why, I was told that the temperatures outside didn't matter. What mattered was the date. Indeed, when it was already very hot outside they kept on heating like mad. What can you do? It was so called "socialist economy". ;)
