(Nad Gorodom Nuar) (English translation)

Noir is above the city

Somewhere there is teen spirit,
It's echoed by Splin,
Then some noise-rustle, the picture changes -
Here goes "the white wallpaper in the apartment and the black tableware",
"And don't throw me on the shore, my Sea" (1)

The old mp3 player came in handy,
Since the new one has broken, not like it had anything to break away from, (2)
I've got the diagnosis for the new plots -
It's a severe shortage of you all.

(x3)

The kettle heated up to the maximum,
There are hundreds of thousands of songs about hot tea,
The noir is descending on the city.
What, you don't need anything? Well okay... (x3)

Thanks!

Author's comments:

(1) These are references to some old hits: to "Smells like teen spirit" by Nirvana, to the Russian rock band Splin, to the lyrics of "Вахтерам" ("To the concierges") by Boombox (the Ukrainian band), and to the lyrics of "Моё море" ("My sea") by Noize MC (the Russian rapper).

(2) my attempt to creatively translate the wordplay, originally "Since the new one has covered itself ("to break" in slang) as if there was anything to cover there"
