Mike Singer - Nein (English translation)

No

There's a girl who always asks me:
"Where are you from?" and
"What do you do?"
Tomorrow her parents aren't home
And she asks:
"Are you also ready?"
It's not that I don't like her
However, I don't plan to be more than friends
Disappointing people, that's not my style
She wants my number and I say :"Sure, of course"

And I wonder:
Why can't I be honest?
And tell her what I think
Explain me, how can it be that I almost always say "yes"
But I think
"No, no, no, no"
[I] say "yes", but mean
"No, no, no, no"
It's not hard at all
"No, no, no, no"
And always when I say "yes", I actually mean
"No, no, no, no"

There's a boy and his name's Mike
I see him being alone for days
To be honest, I'm sorry
So I go over to him and then ask him straight away:
"So, how are we?
Do you have time tomorrow?
My parents aren't home and I've got the place all to myself"
Because he looks so sad and because I like him
I ask him for his number and he says: "Sure, of course"

And I wonder:
Why can't I be honest?
And tell her what I think
Explain me, how can it be that I almost always say "yes"
But I think
"No, no, no, no"
[I] say "yes", but mean
"No, no, no, no"
It's not hard at all
"No, no, no, no"
And always when I say "yes", I actually mean
"No, no, no, no"

"No, no, no, no"
[I] say "yes", but mean
"No, no, no, no"
It's not hard at all
"No, no, no, no"
And always when I say "yes", I actually mean
"No, no, no, no"

And always when I say "yes", I actually mean
"No, no, no, no"

"No, no, no, no"
[I] say "yes", but mean
"No, no, no, no"
It's not hard at all
"No, no, no, no"
And always when I say "yes", I actually mean
"No, no, no, no"

"No, no, no, no"
[I] say "yes", but mean
"No, no, no, no"
It's not hard at all
"No, no, no, no"
And always when I say "yes", I actually mean
"No, no, no, no"

Good translation! Instead of "That's the boy/girl…" I'd prefer "There's this boy/girl…". It's nearer to the German.

Oh, that makes much more sense. Thanks a lot! x
