(1) Piazza Dante (all'epoca 'O Mercatèllo) era lo spiazzo, immediatamente fuori Port'Alba, ove si seppellivano i mucchi di morti a causa dell'epidemia.
(2) San Giorgio a Cremano, cittadina fra Napoli e il Vesuvio, si chiama così perché vi si cremavano i morti per la peste.

The "covid"

Us, napolitans, born vaccinat'd,

Not needing an injection.

Don't give a damn ab't such overplay:

We've seen too much sh$t, our nation!

Smallpox, plague, Spanish flu, choleras:

No epidemics missed us here,

Yeah, each came for a dire revels,

Too many died - what a nightmare!

Many, at Piazza Dante buried,

Others, at San Giorgio à Cremano cremated...

(Let them be as saints repertoried)

Soft's their laughing, and quiet,

As they tell us: "..be patient,

Covid's just another flu, to wit".
