Original lyrics
πόσα βιβλία μαζί του να 'χει φέρει;

Translation
The parrot
Soon after he learnt how to say " Good evening"
the parrot suddenly exclaimed
" I am wise, I know how to speak greek
what I'm still doing here?"
He puts his green jacket on
and off he goes to the birds council
he puts his green jacket on
to announce them an enlightened opinion.
He takes a rather sternly pose
he coughs , he looks around
He takes a rather sternly pose
and he says " Good evening".
His word was so greatly admired
what an educated parrot, they say
he must be wise, someone very important
since he can speak human language
Perhaps he is coming from India, who knows
how many books has he brought with him
with how many wise men has he spoken with
and how many grammar things he knows
Mister Parrot, shall we be lucky enough
to listen you speak further?
The parrot coughs, he clears his throat,
but having nothing else to say, " good evening", he repeated.
