The Odyssey (Greek Version) → Transliteration
The Odyssey (Greek Version)
The Odyssey
1. | The Odyssey (Greek Version) |
2. | Bacchus Teaches Me to Dance |
3. | When I Drink |
so these lyrics show that there is no one out there knowing ancient greek enough to transliterate a singer that sings with a not even correct pronunciation in modern greek. I hear the song ab nauseam and I cannot go any further. There is no help out there too. 😥
anyway here it is
1.
4. (? metemianlopo ?
(? metheief ?
ἐς ( ? menteserzmi ?
(instead of ἀθεεί = without the help of a god, goes fine also ἀτρεμεῖς = unshaken but it is more distant in what she sings)
PS the song is beautiful and the voice too BUT it is not a classical or hellenistic pronunciation or even correct modern greek one. The solution stands in finding the author of this masterpiece.
The last phrase says ζῶμεν ἐλπίζοντες = we are living hoping / expecting. Lets hope that he is alive and well and not assasinated by Ubisoft Assassins Creed.
"Thalpos", not salpos. Anyway, there are plenty of mistakes in this transliteration and you have not seperate your text... if you don't know Greek (and that's obvious), leave it.
