Quadrat im Kreis (English translation)

English translationEnglish
A A

Square in the circle

From time to time I realize I'm not able to laugh anymore
About things I considered funny in the past

From time to time I also realize I don't need any people
And prefer to be all alone

From time to time I get, everything became different
Than it seems to be, that it used to be in former days*

From time to time I feel I don't like the sun anymore
Since I can't stand the bright light

But the pain is sugar-sweet and somehow very familiar, too
I got used to it. That's why once more a spark of courage
Is missing for the last consequence and the paradoxic anger about it
Is drowned in the dreams by this fucked up
Lightness of being

Like a square in a circle I'm rubbing people the wrong way again and again**
Though I know for a long time I can never change
What's unchangeable, 'cause the evil always dwells
And the sun's gonna shine once again, no freaking matter what's gonna happen

Like a square in a circle I'm rubbing people the wrong way again and again
Though I know for a long time I can never change
What's unchangeable, 'cause the evil always dwells
And the sun's gonna shine once again, no freaking matter what's gonna happen

Again and again I realize, "from time to time" is "always" with increasing frequency

Thanks!

* This line doesn't make much sense to me in German, so the translation of it doesn't make much sense, too. Tongue smile
** This line is actually a pun in German which doesn't translate well in English. "Anecken" in it's literal sense derives from "Ecke", the German word for vertex.
