Kaside-i İstibdat Yahut Kırmızı İzler
Bir köhne kadit parçası, bir çehrei menhus,
Zulmetler içinde mütereddit, mütelâşi,
Daim mütefekkir görünen, kendine mahsus
Efkârı sakimane ile âleme karşı
Ateş saçarak etmede her gün bizi tehdit,
Âmali harisanesini eyledi tezyit…
Gördükçe bu mazlumlarını, sinesi mağrur,
Tırnaklarını aileler kalbine saplar;
Mağdurlarının her biri bir kûşede ağlar,
Katlandı vatan görmeğe evlâdını makhur…
Birçoklarımız mahpes-ü menfada süründük.
Ey gazii mecruhu vega dideye döndük.
Ey kanlı eliyle vatan âmaline hail,
Ey enmilei sürbu cinayata delâil
Teşkil eden ey köhne kadit, katili efkâr,
Ey katili şübbanı vatan, katili ahrar,
Ey varlığı bir millet için bâdii zillet.
Ey çehresi ifrite veren dehşeti vahşet,
Zindanları, menfaları, mahpesleri doldur,
Ziniciri esaretle bütün hisleri dondur.
Tesmimi nefes, nefyi ebet, sonra denizler..
Her girdiğin evlerde durur kırmızı izler…
Kâbusi hiyanetle vatan can çekişirken
Âtimizi dendanı harisin kemirirken
Bir gün Rumeli dağları envara boyandı;
Hürriyetin enfası ile herkes uyandı.
Mustafa Kemal
Translation
Ode of the Despotism or Red Traces
An old piece of skeleton, an evil face,
shy and hurried in darkness,
always seen as thoughtful and special,
against the public with wine poems,
always threating with fire,
increased works with covetously...
When these oppressed are seen as proud,
families stick their nails to their heart;
Every oppressed wipes in a different corner,
The homeland bear seeing its people grieved,
Most of us suffered in the prison.
Oh veteran, we turned into an old man injured in a fight.
Oh the one who interfere the homeland’s works with bloody hands,
Oh the one whose fingers has proof of the murder
Oh the old piece of skeleton who is the murderer of the thoughts,
Oh the murderer of the young homeland and the free folk,
Oh the one whose existence is a temporary derogation for the public.
Oh the one whose face horrifies the devil,
Fill the dungeons and prisons,
Freeze all the feelings with chain captivity.
Poison the air, banish them and seas...
Red traces are in every house you step in...
While the homeland was suffering from treason,
While our horses were bitten by ambitious ones,
one day the Rumelia mountains were painted with lights;
Everyone woke up with the breath of the freedom.
Mustafa Kemal
