(Rita) (English translation)

Rita

between Rita and my eyes, there is a gun
and those who know Rita
kneel down and pray
to the god of her honey coloured eyes

and i kissed Rita
when she was young
and i remember how
she clung to me and i was covered
from my shoulder with the most beautiful braid

and i remember Rita
like a bird remembers a brook
oh...Rita

between us, a million birds and pictures
and countless dates
these were shot
by a gun

The name Rita
was the Eid in my mouth
The body of Rita
was a wedding in my blood

and i was lost with Rita
for two years
and she slept on my arm
for two years
and we made promises over the best glass

and we burned
within the lips of wine
and we were born twice
within the lips of wine
and were born twice
oh...Rita

what kept my eyes away from your eyes?
except two naps
and honey clouds
before this gun

once upon a time
oh silence of the evening
my moon travelled
far away in the morning
in the eyes of honey

and the city swept away all the singers
and Rita
between Rita and my eyes
there is a rifle

Thanks!

Author's comments:

this song is written about a girl named Rita, who is separated from her love by force, hence the mention of the gun. contextually this could be referring to the Lebanese civil war or apartheid of Jewish people

بندقية with a gun, referring to the separation of his love by force
العيون العسلية honey eyes, referring to the hazel eyes of Rita
وغيوم عسلية honey clouds, referring to the blurred sight of the hazel eyes
