Seeing Into The Distance, Seeing Clearly

It was so narrow
that i was forced
to spread my wings and fly
to a place where
perhaps like at Mount Nevo
seeing into the distance, seeing clearly

A man is like a tree planted on water
asking for roots
a man is like a bush under the heavens
where fire burns within.

So i lost my way
my life was a puzzle
thirsty like a wanderer in the desert
looking for a word of truth
that'll empower
me to welcome the morrow

A man...

Fire burned within me
i went out to ask
for days i raged like a storm
i returned to my home
to find that you are with me
until my path comes to its end

A man...

Really good translation, only minor thing I might mention is that if you want to try and maintain the meter/flow of the original title, you could shorten it to "Seeing Far, Seeing Clear" (to make sure it scans where it comes up in the song, you could change it within the text to "perhaps like at Mount Nevo, *we're* seeing far, seeing clear").

Also, there doesn't seem to be a playlist for Yom HaZikaron - might it be worth creating one? I've done a few translations of memorial day songs in recent years and I know there are others.

Thank you! I kind of like it the way it is.. but will think about it for sure!

Very Good idea. Feel free to create a collection here:

If you want to add me as a collaborator i would be glad to try and add some song as well!

I thought there was already a collection but can't find it.. oh well!

All the best,
~Moshe

I think the word "צר" in the first line means "sad", "distressing" or "troubling" in this instance, as in 2 Samuel 1:26
