No Second Troy lyrics

From the port of Aberdeen
Down to Sicily
From whole a century on to Kiev (?)
We've searched the sky for what might be some blessed reprieve
A dream breaking into waking life

No second Troy to yearn for
No second Troy to fight for
No second Troy to burn for
No second Troy to die for

There's sand in everything
And grit in all we eat
We sit and watch the easeful light
And searched the sky for what might be a blessed reprieve
For dream breaking into waking life

No second Troy to yearn for
No second Troy to fight for
No second Troy to burn for
No second Troy to die for

No second Troy to yearn for
No second Troy to fight for
No second Troy to burn for
No second Troy to die for

So we all keep relieving
We'll just be feeding on lies, you know (?)
No surprise for sure
All keep believing and all keep feeding on lies, you know
No surprise for sure

From the port of Aberdeen
Down to Sicily
From whole a century on to Kiev (?)
We've searched the sky for what might be some blessed reprieve
A dream breaking into waking life

No second Troy to yearn for
No second Troy to fight for
No second Troy to burn for
No second Troy to die for

No second Troy to yearn for
No second Troy to fight for
No second Troy to burn for
No second Troy to die for

Last word of the third line is definitely Kiev but I can't tell what the first part is- It sounds most like "from Holy Centre(??) down to Kiev," but I assume what I'm hearing as either holy centre or holocene is the name of a city bombed or razed during WWII that I don't recognise (Aberdeen was a frequent target of German bombardments during WWII, Sicily was invaded by Allied forces and razed in one of the major battles of WWII, Kiev or Kyiv which was recently razed again by Russian forces was also razed during WWII; mentioning Kiev as the last city was probably done to deliberately tie the song's theme to current events in a way that's subtle enough not to date it, especially given the contents of Defiance). The only vaguely similar name I can think of is Hiroshima (which was definitely very much razed during WWII), but it's not really a close match.

The first two lines of the second verse are "There's sand in everything/And grit in all we eat." I could be wrong but I'm almost positive the third line is "we sit and watch the easeful light."

The first three lines of the third verse are "So we all keep relieving/We'll all just be feeding/(on) lies, you know." The first line sounds like nonsense out of context but relates to the third line. "Relieving" is a slightly antiquated euphemism for defecation (still commonly used, I believe, as recently as the 1990s, and not unheard-of today, but less common than it used to be; here it was probably just used in lieu of any other term to make the rhyme work). While for the purpose of the song's meter the end of the second line is "feeding," for the purpose of grammar the end of the second line's clause is "on," and the way I interpret the verse is something like "we all defecate lies and later we'll have to eat them up." "All keep believing and all keep feeding/on lies, you know" reinforces this, since it follows the same grammatical structure, except it's saying we all believe lies in addition to having to eat them up.

Couldn't figure out the first name in that third line, but otherwise I'm very confident in all of the above. The lines in question sound comprehensible to me, though to be fair I've worked as a professional transcriber in the past; My guess is that your headphones either aren't the best or need an equalizer because they're crushing vocal frequencies in favour of bass or something.

Thank you a lot for your help, I will adjust the lyrics in a while, because now I'm busy.
