English translation

White Rose

Versions: #1#2#3
Of the rose on the breast while in the dance circle
I danced with whomever happened to be there
So many turns I was dancing
That the rose lost its petals

Whoever has, whoever has
Love in her life (literally: love in her manner)
Picks the white rose
And pins the rose to the breast

O rosebush, little rosebush
Rosebush of my garden
If you love roses so much
Why don't you love me?

Whoever has, whoever has
Love in her life
Picks the white rose
And pins the rose to the breast

This is my best guess based on all the metaphors. The "Rose" in the first line should not be capitalized. If it were, that would make it a woman's name, but according to Mariza's website, it is not.

Portuguese
