Soy soldado de levita

Soy soldado de levita
de esos de caballería,
de esos de caballería,
soy soldado de levita.

Me incorporé a las filas
por una mujer bonita,
por una mujer bonita
que burló la vida mía. (bis)

Corazón apasionado
disimula tu tristeza,
disimula tu tristeza
corazón apasionado,

que el que nace desgraciado
desde la cuna comienza,
desde la cuna comienza
a vivir martirizado.

Al pie de una malva en rosa
a una viuda enamoré,
a una viuda enamoré
al pie de una malva en rosa,

y me dijo la graciosa,
no puedo, me duele un pie,
pero si es para otra cosa,
aunque sea cojeando iré.

Translation

I am a soldier with frock coat

I am a soldier with frock coat
of those of cavalry,
of those of cavalry,
I am a soldier with frock coat.

I joined the army
for a pretty woman
for a pretty woman
that mocked my life

Passionate heart
conceal your sadness,
conceal your sadness
passionate heart,

that which is born unfortunate
from the cradle starts
from the cradle starts
to live martyrized.

At the foot of a pink mauve
I fell in love with a widow
I fell in love with a widow
At the foot of a pink mauve

and the graceful one told me
I can not, my foot hurts
but if it is for someting else
although I am limping, I will go

Hola, Celal1
Algunas notas:
1. "levita" - I don't know the exact word to use, bue it refers to the uniform --> "frock/frock coat" (?)
2. "I joined the rows" - "filas" refers to the service/army.
3. "that mocked my life". Altough it is not there, I would say "my entire life" to make the verse a little longer (but no need).
4. "and told me the graceful" - Better, "and the graceful/vivacious/funny one told me"
5. "hurts me a foot" --> "my foot hurts"
6. "but if it is for another thing" I would say, "...for something else"
7. "although it is limping" --> "although I'm limping/even limping. I will go".

Feel free to move words around, when necessary, to get more clear meaning.

Hasta luego.
