Half a Goddess

(Hey!)

Make a way, 'cause I'm feeling fancy.
I feeling m-m-magic.
It's ok to be yourself, be classy.
And, n-n-nasty.
All the guys could never really try me.
They're not as smart as a bee.
Half a goddess, beating drums are calling.
I'm, uh, on my way.

Rythmn completely
up on the mount "Husam"
Hands to the ceiling
up on the mount "Husam"
We're body vibe really.
Up on the mount Husam. 1
Up on the mount Husam.
What's up? What's up? What's up?

I'm curin' my vibe. {repeats}
Half goddess.
Half of me's goddess, and half of me wild.

Another day, another second waiting.
N-n-no time to waste.
Yeah, painted faces. Everybody's dancing.
I'm-m-m on my way.
All those nights could never cast a chance. See?
I'm light as bright as day..
Half a goddess, beating drums are calling.
I'm on my way.

Rythmn completely
up on the mount "Husam"
Hands to the ceiling
up on the mount "Husam"
We're body vibe really.
Up on the mount Husam.
Up on the mount Husam.
What's up? What's up? What's up?

I'm curin' my vibe. {repeats}
Half goddess.
Half of me's goddess, and half of me wild.

  • 1. This is probably not English, but something in another language, or just ad-libbed gibberish. But, it does sound like this in English. So, here are some nonsense words in English, that sound like what she's singing, whatever it may actually be.

Submitter's comments:

There are many possible mistakes in this transcription, mainly because she has an unusal accent. Also, many of the things she sings make no sense anyway, so how would I know if I'm right or wrong.
I'm really lost here. A little help would help.
Thanks to all who give their suggestions. Sooner or later we may actually know what's being sung. Regular smile

Thank you. Actually, she’s from Armenia. Regular smile

OK, but I'm still not sure if I got that Mountain or Polish reference, and some other things she sings.

I've trying to work out what she's actually singing since earlier today, and just stumbled upon your interpretation of the lyrics. About the Poland thing, I just realized that she's probably singing "Half a goddess, busy drums are callin'.". I also hear some other things than what you have written, but I honestly wouldn't know what the correct lyrics would be instead.

About the "Mount Husam" thing, I don't think she's actually singing words at that part, at least not in English, it could be Armenian. Instead I think that she's singing something similar to when people just sing "la la la", not a real meaning but it sounds nice.

Thanks. I'll use your "busy drums are calling" because Poland makes no sense. LOL Any more help you can give would be greatly appreciated. But, for now I'll leave Mount LA LA.

Here are some words that I hear but they can be wrong:
I'm pretty sure the fisrt lines are "Make a way cause I'm feeling fancy, I'm feeling m-m-magic"
Next lines may be "It's ok to be yourself, be classy and n-n-nasty"
I think in the first verse she sings "And light as bright as a day" and in the second one "I'm as bright as a day"
First line of the chorus I hear like "Rhythm and feeling"
Maybe she alternates "curing my vibe" and "killing my vibe"
I agree with previous comment about "Mount Husam"
Not sure if all of this makes sence heh

Any help is good help. Seems like you can distinguish through her accent better than I can. I'll use your translations. It can't hurt. Thanks.

Haha your frustrated comments are really funny Phil Ambro, thanks for your brave effort!

On the "Mount Husam" thing... to me it sounds more like "na-na-na-na who's that?" ....maybe with a Greek style 'opa' in front? (I don't speak Armenian, maybe they have a similar exclamation). The question 'who's that' kinda makes sense because she's singing 'what's up?' straight after. I think?

It's kind of a shame because I love the song but the English is... well, it's a challenge Tongue smile I'd love if they got a dialect coach involved and re-released the song.

Thanks for your understanding. Her accent is quite perplexing because she sings some things so perfectly that I had no idea she was foreign. She apparently did have a linguistics coach. However, some things are just sooooo far off I have no idea. So it's like reading something where the person typing moved one hand one whole key off and I'm trying to fill in the wrong letters. It's bad. What I really don't understand is why she didn't release the lyrics on her own, instead of having people like me try to guess what she's singing. It is a shame. But, thanks for the help. Until I get someone who knows for sure what that Mount Husam thing is, I'll just leave it. Unless you're sure. Then I'll change it. Thanks.

Phil Ambro    Tue, 04/12/2018 - 19:37

I'll update this whole thing after a few more guesses as to what she's singing. I'll update it with the consensus view. Thanks to all.

What? "transcribing is right up my alley"? Be careful what you say is your "alley". LOL

Phil Ambro    Tue, 04/12/2018 - 19:44

God! I hoped she wasn't singing that. {Sexual innuendos all over that} LOL. I'll keep my version, EVEN if she sang that, because I'm sure that's not what she wanted to sing. LOL
