The stardust memory (English translation)

The stardust memory

Stardust Memory

Stardust Memory 忘れないでいて
星屑が 舞い降りてくるこの夜を

二人初めて くちづけたユートピア
不思議なときめき 涙に変わってく
樫の木ごしに 星たちのシャンデリア
小さなウインク おわかれをそっとささやいてるわ

Stardust Memory いつか会えたなら
約束よ 星のテラスで抱きしめて

泣き顔を見せたくないから 星空見つめてて

Stardust Memory 忘れないでいて
星屑が 舞い降りてくるこの夜を

Stardust Memory…Stardust Memory…
Stardust Memory…Stardust Memory…

Stardust Memory

Versions: #1#2
(Stardust memory) Don't forget...
...this night when the stardust is falling

Sitting on a motorbike on the terrace on the hill...
My body shaking a little bit, my tears just won't stop
It can't be helped, I need to say goodbye for the first time
The young girl phase in my life now comes to an end

(Stardust memory) Don't forget...
...this night when the stardust is falling

The first time we kissed, my world felt like a utopia
That wonderful fluttering feeling now turns into tears
Through the oak trees, the stars look like a chandelier
They give a little wink as I softly whisper goodbye

(Stardust memory) If we meet again someday...
Promise me to hug me on this star terrace

I don't want him to see me cry, so I look up to the starry sky

(Stardust memory) Don't forget...
...this night when the stardust is falling

Stardust memory... stardust memory...*:・゚✧
Stardust memory... stardust memory...*:・゚✧

Thanks!

Koizumi Kyoko (born: February 4, 1966) , also known as her cute nickname: Kyon Kyon (キョンキョン) , was an extremely popular idol in the 1980s, easily top 5 most popular female idol at that time. She participated in a tv talent show in 1981 and made her debut in 1982. One year later her song started to reach top 10 in Oricon Chart. And the next year in 1984, her song  reached #1 spot in Oricon chart for the first time, and since then until 1994, her songs would regularly reached the #1 spot, and even when she didn't, it would mostly placed between #2 - #4. Even in her older day, she has one song from 2013 that reached the #2 spot.

In her entire career, Koizumi Kyoko has a total of 11 songs that reach Oricon #1 rank. She has made 6 appeareances in Kohaku Uta Gassen (legendary new year eve show that has been every year since 1953, where only elite artists of the year can be invited to perform there). In a survey of "Top 50 Idols of All Time" made by a music program in 2011, they placed Koizumi Kyoko in rank #14 with a total of 14,260,000 sales.

Extremely popular in her singing career, she also has equal popularity as an actress. She appeared in quite a lot of movie and tv dramas with high ratings. This "Stardust Memory" song is also an OST of one of her drama:

Nakamori Akina and Matsuda Seiko (the two "queens", top 2 most popular female idols in 1980s) almost never appear in the same screen. By the rare chance they did, their interaction looked kinda awkward. They might not really hating each other, but it might because of the media constantly portrayed them as arch-rival.

But between Koizumi Kyoko and Nakamori Akina, they were (or still?) friends and got along well. This is the story of their friendship (with English subtitles):

Kyoko and Akina often appeared on the same shows. In this video (with English subtitle), they even hosted a show together:

^ That idol they interviewed is Shimada Nami . In that video, Akina also mentioned when she was 10 years old, she went to a music show and saw Asaoka Megumi live in front of her, singing this song

Between kyoko and akina it's not strange since they both auditioned in Star Tanjou on the same year
Here you got both auditions

I see. So they have known each other since long ago. They still looked so young and almost unrecognizeable. Seems like she has already been called "Kyon Kyon" since back then. Thanks for the rare video.  Teeth smile
