Старушка (Starushka) (English translation)

Старушка

Недолго мучилась старушка
В высоковольтных проводах.
Ее обугленная тушка
На птичек наводила страх.

The Crone

Not long the crone was suffering there,
In high-volt wires, her final pains.
The feathered passersby felt terror,
Finding her barbequed remains.

Yes. The three stages or figures of womanhood are often called: maiden, mother, crone. In other words, crone = "old woman". "Crone" usually has negative connotations, but it can also be used more neutrally like this for "old woman" or even more positively for "wise woman"
