🧑🏻 I'm a native Greek speaker with a very good knowledge of English language. However, most of it comes from personal practice through the years and I'm still learning. I'm not in any way able to attend highly academic or professional environments and conversations cause I'm very good at writing but not skilled in spontaneous conversations due to confidence. I still I have all tangible skills, just not the ability to employ them succesfully when it comes to talking. I've also taken some Spanish lessons in the past and I still want to continue them at some point because it is one of my favorite poetic languages.
📚🖌️ Some of my other hobbies include digital drawing and writing my own personal poems. In 2014 I started an ongoing personal project of pixel art and short poetry. It is an ambitious effort that inspired me and helped me come in touch with a lot of people and express thoughts I would never dare to express in personal. It is almost therapeutic to be able to write your imagination and angst on paper and connect with others around you. I'm somehow still new to this and I would be happy to learn new things and discover more about it. I'm currently writing my second poetry digital book and I have already written 23 poems that were published through my art page on Instagram as ebooks. I'm thinking of posting these here at some point if time permits.
🌐 I like to translate a huge varitety of genres no matter if I personally like the song or not. There are songs that I never gave a listen to but still I liked their lyrics myself or I wanted to helped with a request so I took the time to write the translation for it. I also like to follow the lyric's context so sometimes, the English words differ than the ones in my language but the meaning remains. That happens because sometimes, translating directly from English to Greek, makes sentences sound robotic and uninspired. Greek language is one that you can say a lot of things with one word and sometimes it's difficult to translate what an English speaker wants to imply. To avoid making my work feel stilted and without personality I always take care to make a research of the song, especially if it contains idioms and personal experiences from the artists themselves. It's beautiful to take a song and give it a different flavor without taking away its values and meaning.
⭐ If you like my translations I would love to see a rating, a "Thanks!" or even corrections in case I made a grammar mistake. As I said above, I'm still learning things and I'll be happy to receive a constructive feedback. I translated a lot of songs in the past and when I went back to check years later, I noticed a lot of grammatical errors that had to be corrected. It's in my belief that you never stop learning new things every single day and everyone can teach you something new when you least expect it. Feel free to leave your impressions and constructive commentary as long as they are not meant in a hurtful or toxic way.
Best regards, ✍🏻
