Interests

For the most part my major hobby is computer repair. I'll tear a laptop to shreds, completely gut it and everything, then leave the parts strewn out for a few weeks, and put the entire thing back together. I'll also try to resurrect computers that are "dead" (they're not dead if you throw enough other computers into them) and on occasions, I'll just tinker with them and see what I can do. I also play video games, probably too much, but I don't care, it passes time and is entertaining. I also screw with video game code if I am able to, just seeing what kind of mayhem I can create. When I'm not doing that I'm listening to Russian music, hand translating Russian songs (and now putting my translations here) and I even find myself enjoying writing satire. To be frank, if it can be seen as political you can bet I'm somehow interested in it, especially satire and anything protest-related. I always enjoy rifling out the why and people's motives. I guess this is why I'm interested in Mashina Vremeni, They're so vocal in their beliefs and what they feel is right, and it shows in their music. The satirical whips, the hilarious amounts of pessimism and even the metaphors and the "jabs" (or as I will always call them whips since that is what they are. They're not "jabs", a political insult is a jab if it goes nowhere, a whip is when it gets people to react. If I whip you, you're not going to just shrug it off, you'll probably have a violent reaction to it). And if I'm not video gaming, franken-computing, doing college work, reading, writing, analyzing whatever happened in politics, criticizing other people's work in a critical manner, I'm probably outside whittling wood. I'm just a jack-of-all-trades kind of guy. Oh and did I forget to mention I'm also obsessive on research? I do that sometimes, I get bored, nothing excites or entertains me so I just sit back and delve into the bowls of the internet on topics. From this came my rabid interest in Russian culture, history, and really everything. Because of this I really have a love-hate relationship with Russia, I love the people, the culture, the history and really the everything, but I hate it because of how repulsive the political climate is, and the overall tyranny that goes on there.

About me

To me, music is a form of speech just like, well, speech. It should be treated as such. No matter who has written the song, no matter their culture, their background nor their creed, no matter the meaning of their song, whether it be with ill intentions or a cause of good, should be listened to. The problem is that there is a language barrier, one in which a person in America, for instance, would not understand what a German or French or Russian song is saying because they don't speak the language. And because of my views that music should be for everyone, and that everyone should have the right to listen to songs without intervention, it is my goal to do my part in translating music into English so that others can share their right to music and know what the author has to say to them.
