Other than studying languages, I have many other interests, including: reading, camping, hiking, running, working out, volunteering, political activism, programming, and playing guitar. I'm always up to try new things and learn new skills.
I was born and raised on Long Island in the state of New York, in the United States of America. I enjoy learning languages quite a bit, which serves me well living in an area that is both visited by tourists from all over the world and home to a population that is equally diverse. As an active member of my community, a volunteer EMT with my fire department, and an immigrants' rights activist, speaking more than just English often comes in handy. I'm close to fluent in both Spanish and Japanese, and coming along pretty well with the other languages I have been studying. For some reason the "Studied" field is limited to 15 languages, so I have the full list of languages I have been learning below.
Studying: American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hindi/Urdu, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Swedish, and Turkish.
