Translation

Become the moon

I don't mind,
If you don't mind,
I'll just be by your side
Just stay here

If you're not here
I'm not here either
I'll be by your side
That's just my excuse

I don't mind,
If you don't mind,
I'll just be by your side
Just stay here

I'm not a kid
But I can't put it in words
So I'll just be by your side
That's all I can do for now

There's nothing wrong with you
Not once have you strayed from your path
I'm just afraid I'll lose the you I have now
So I cry

I don't mind,
So If you don't mind,
I'll just be by your side
Just stay here

'Cause the night is cold
And if you're afraid of tomorrow
I'll just stay by your side
Until morning comes

There's nothing wrong with you
Not once have you strayed from your path
I'm just afraid I'll lose the you I have now
So I cry

Riding on the winds dancing in the wind
Becoming the moon and wearing the stars
I extend my hand thinking I can grasp yours
But I guess I can't reach you, ever

I remember uploading a translation for this a year back, but then immediately deciding to delete it, but then someone else must've seen there was a new song added with no translation and filled it in... oops
I translated it because it was a very important song to me at the time, but then I decided to delete it because I thought I didn't do it justice, and that it should only be experienced in Japanese... or something like that
However, unfortunately, I think that the translation that replaced mine is worse, and it contains a total mistranslation of the chorus, so I guess I shot myself in the foot

Ideally, I'd take down the lyrics and subsequently have the translation pulled, but it appears that that isn't possible; only translations can be unsubmitted. :/

Hello. Sorry to see that you did not enjoy the translation. I'm afraid it is not possible to delete someone else's translation outright, however, you can amend it using the site features. You may use the stars to give a rating if you are fluent in both languages to warn users it's not a good quality translation, use the comments to point out the translator's errors and help fix them, private message the translator to let them know their translation is erroneous, or you may avoid interacting with the erroneous translation altogether, and submit a second translation of your own, if you have the time.

LT is full of duplicate translations in the same language, with some songs having excessively many. The rules say duplicate translations are not allowed, however, submitting an improved re-translation is how most people deal with an unacceptable translation.
Please feel free to submit an improved translation if you believe the current one is inadequate.

Hi! I just saw this message ages later because of the other comments recently posted here.

OK, I'm not surprised that a song listing can't be pulled - I figured so, especially when a translation was already up - and in retrospect, I realize that the notion of wanting to remove someone's work, even if perceivedly inferior, was unthoughtful and impolite. I'm grateful that you replied to me so kindly!

I do post translations all the time to songs that have pre-existing versions to give my rendition or replace a very poor one, but in this case, I hadn't wanted to, because I had already deleted the translation I wrote. I wrote it in the editor on a whim, so it wasn't saved anywhere else, and I didn't want to have to redo it. I thought that having it pulled - which is what I did to my translation - would be better than having to redo it just because someone else did it. This line of thought was based on me thinking you only translated it because you saw it here with no translation on the site, but I realize that you may have also just known the band, and someone could've translated it at a later point in time regardless of its removal, so I understand that as well now.

I think you wrote this translation, right? If so, and if you still want to keep it up, I would be happy if you went through some of the errors you made, especially the chorus. The entire phrase "君に間違った事はなく、道を誤った事もなく、ありのまま何もない" is in relationship to 君, which means the whole chorus should roughly be something like: "I cry because I feel like I'm going to miss out on [a version of you that] never made mistakes, never went down the wrong paths [in life], and has nothing [burdening you], just as you are".

Of course, that's an extremely long and unwieldy phrase, and I recall really having to get clever with my translation to convey all of that information naturally as well as paraphrase to preserve the order of the lines (part of the reason why I didn't want to redo it). Your version isn't very elegant or delicate with nuance in the verses, either, which was upsetting to me (although understandable for this song), but for the chorus, what you did is not just a matter of clunkiness or sacrifice. I don't think it is possible to read the Japanese and actually interpret it to have the meaning of what you wrote in English. I feel like it is objectively mistranslated.

Again, sorry to have initially confronted you over this translation! I can't blame you for doing it, I don't own this song or anything. I would still like a nice translation available for it somewhere, though.
Keep up the work on your translations! :)

Probably the song with my favourite lyrics in the album

The opening is really sweet and resonated with me a lot. I found the 11th track to be the most hard hitting, though this is a great introductory track. Both people I've shown it to have really enjoyed it despite the repetitive instrumentals.

Definitely! I feel HELL-SEE has great introductory songs, like 不眠症 and 月になって, but also songs that really grow on you (for me the title song). The 11th falls in the latter category personally, I didn't like it much at all when I first heard it, but after a few more listens and seeing the translated lyrics I'm warming up to it a bit ^^
