Original lyrics
Vstajenje Primorske
Nekdaj z bolestjo smo v sebe zaprli
svoje ponižanje, svoje gorje,
krik maščevanja na ustnih zatrli,
ga zakopali globoko v srce.
Toda glej, planil vihar je presilen,
kot pajčevine raztrgal okov,
šinil je zopet žar novega dneva,
tja do poslednjih primorskih domov.
Strojnice svojo so pesem zapele,
zrak je pretreslo grmenje topov,
širne poljane so v ognju vzplamtele,
klic je svobode vstal sredi gozdov.
Vstala Primorska si v novo življenje,
z dvignjeno glavo korakaj v nov čas!
V borbah, ponižanju, zmagah, trpljenju
našla si končno svoj pravi obraz,

Translation
Rising of Primorska
We used to painfully hold within
Our humiliation, our suffering
The cry of revenge we stifled on our lips
We buried it deep inside our hearts
But, look, a powerful tempest broke out
Like cobwebs the shackles were torn
The glow of the new day raced again
There to the last of Primorska homes
Machine guns sang their song
The air shook with the thunder of cannons
Wide meadows went up in flames
The call of freedom arose in the woods
Primorska, you have arisen into new life
With a raised head, stride into new times!
Through the battles, humiliation, victory, suffering
You finally found your real face

The song is about the uprising in Primorska, now the Western region of Slovenia, which was occupied by fascist Italy for 20 years. It is now considered the unofficial anthem of the region, and people often stand up while it's performed.
