Russia is waging a disgraceful war on Ukraine.     Stand With Ukraine!

私のしあわせパートII (Watashi no shiawase part II) (English translation)

Mm mm mm……

My Happiness - Part II

Versions: #1#2
After a long journey, my tired body...
...will be soothed once I see your smile
Even though I can't do anything for you now, but...
Someday I'll be waiting for you in an apron...
With our child sitting on my lap
We will have some white chairs set on the balcony
Then the three of us will talk about tomorrow...
...while looking up at the sky

Everyone dreams of happiness
I want to find my happiness too, to be happier
Where does my happiness lay? In singing? Dancing?
No, my happiest moment will be when I can jump into your hug
🎵 🎵 🎵~

Let's pick flowers together in the spring
Let's have fun under the sun in summer
Let's dress up in mature looks in the autumn
And we'll celebrate my birthday in winter
I want to look cute forever
So I can always stay in your heart
I want my eyes to look beautiful forever
Because these eyes will reflect the beautiful sight of you

Everyone dreams of happiness
I want to find my happiness too, to be happier
Where does my happiness lay? In singing? Dancing?
No, my happiest moment will be when I can jump into your hug
🎵 🎵 🎵~

Thanks!

This song seems to be the sequel of her other song.

In the lyrics, it can be seen that Mako was in love. It was around the time she was about to get married.

^ That was her last performance in "Yoru no Hit Studio" tv show around August 1981, before she retired. It can be seen that the presenters and fellow singers showered her with love and gave her a warm send-off. Matsuda Seiko (who used to be her highschool classmate) was on her left (the one with red vest). Ota Hiromi was also somewhere behind her (on the thumbnail). Mako decided to retire so she can focus on her family and marriage life.

Her wedding postponed a bit until mid January 1982. The ones who acted as intermediaries in her wedding ceremony were her husband's senior, an actor, and his then wife (now an ex): Asada Miyoko. Mako had a life goal to get marry at her 20. She barely made it as they got married in January 22, just a few days before her 21st birthday in January 31. Finally she could enjoyed a marriage life like in that lyrics.

But...

Unfortunately, they divorced in less than two years. Ishino Mako came back to entertainment industry in 1983.

Before I continue with the 1980s segment, there are some songs I want to translate first. Few weeks ago, I have brought out Kudo Shizuka's and Nakayama Miho's highest selling songs that sold more than 1 million copies each, I even mentioned something about "flame burns the brightest before it goes out", that their last Oricon #1 ranked songs also became their highest selling songs. I just found out that Koizumi Kyoko a.k.a Kyon2 also has such song (she even has two! That's what set these 3 super idols apart from "normal" top idols), so I need to translate it. Then, there's Miho signature song that I've skipped twice, but it feels like unfinished bussiness, so I'll translate that too. And to make it balance, I'll also translate one of Shizuka's signature songs.

After those 3 songs, we'll continue with 'honorary mention' of 1980s idols (there's a lot of them!). I'll start with their first generation idol, someone who debuted at the same year as Matsuda Seiko and Kawai Naoko. Her name was also appeared in "Top 50 Idols of All Time" list. Coming up next!
