Wind chases clouds (German translation)

English
A A

Wind chases clouds

A bird hit the window as I gazed
It's now on the gable looking dazed
Having recognized this awkward state
It felt as if we shared the same fate

I've seen wisteria in bloom
Its rampant shoots one had to prune
Cascades of purple haze sooth eyes
Evoke acacias and goodbyes

There was time for sailboats on Hudson
And boat races in the Caribbean
The past disjointedly paints upon
The uneven canvas of my thoughts.

Heard rain's ode to the autumnal gloom
Watched wind chase cloud dreams away too soon
Spoke words of love I didn't really mean
A poet with the chained rhyme I've always been.

Thanks for your poem, Elena [@dandelion] - It had the ray of the sunshine I could use! Here's a link to it for others to enjoy https://lyricstranslate.com/en/dandelion-не-верьте-ни-ветрам-ни-облакам-...

And, Zhenya [@vevvev] thanks for the video, this one and all others!

Wind jagt die Wolken

Versions: #1#2

Doch wilde Triebe man stutzen muss.
Lila Kaskaden beruhigen das Herz,
Ich denk' an Akazien und Abschiedsschmerz.

Am Hudson war wieder die Segelboot-Zeit,
Karibik-Regatten, es war wohl soweit,
Vergangenheit ohne Zusammenhang malt,
Was auf meiner inneren Leinwand erstrahlt.

Der Regen singt Oden dem herbstlichen Ton,
Zu früh jagt der Wind Wolkenträume davon.
Die Worte der Liebe, die ich nicht gemeint,
Ein Dichter gefesselter Reime, wie's scheint.

Thanks!
