Chorus: I didn't translate "ちはやふる" since I thought it would lose its meaning if I tried to translate it. Shortly, in the anime it was a Karuta card that the main character always reached for ever since her childhood friend introduced her to Karuta.
The card's poem:
「ちはやぶる神代も聞かず竜田川からくれなゐに 水くくるとは 」
"Even in the age of ancient gods, I have never heard that the Tatsuta River dyed its water in autumn red."
