Život je more (English translation)

Život je more

Život je more, pučina crna,
po kojoj tonu mnogi što brode.
Nije mi srce plašljiva srna.
Ja se ne bojim velike vode.
Lome me vali, nose me struje.
Oseka sreće, a tuge plima.
Šiba me nebo bičem oluje,
al' još se ne dam i još me ima.

U jutra rana plaše me senke
minulih dana.
Sećanja mutna kao u laži,
kao u snu...

Ipak se borim, ipak se nadam,
sve manje letim, sve više padam,
i sve su jače ruke sto me vuku dnu...

Možda će žena svilenog bedra,
koja me zove i pruža ruke,
uliti vetar u moja jedra,
do nove žene do nove luke.

Život je more...

Life Is an Ocean

Versions: #1#2#3#4
Life is an ocean, deep sea of darkness,
Where many sailors are doomed to sink.
My heart is no deer plagued by fearfulness,
The water’s dangers I don’t bethink.
The waves, they break me, I’m dragged by torrents,
Low tide of joy, high tide of gloom,
The sky, it whips me with thunder serpents,
Yet I don’t give up, yet I’m abloom.

At breaking dawn,
I’m scared of shadows of days bygone.
Memories murky, as in deceit,
As in a dream...

I still fight on, my hope stays tall,
Lower I fly, deeper I fall,
Hands pulling me to abyss ever stronger seem.

Perhaps a mermaid of silken scales,
Calling my name, melting my armor,
Will blow a wind into my sails,
To a new woman, to a new harbor.

Life is an ocean....

Thanks!
