Gjestar is here a verb, and meens is visiting.

I think "old wiseman" is a better translation of "gamal tul" in this case, because he is more important in his wisdom than in his speach.

Hello Sylvrosa,

Gjestar, I agree It's verb. At first, my choice for translation was: "is guesting".
English guest is also verb, in meaning to appear as a guest. "is guesting" appearing as a guest.
I'll put "is visiting" as you suggested

Regarding "old wiseman" I also considered as translation for "gamal tul". I decided that it's better to use "old speaker", in this case, as it emphasis that song is about Silence speech e.g. Silence is speaking. Change is coming trough silence.

Thank you! :) Best regards

Okay, nipersson, I republished it.
But it sure doesn't sound quite right in English, it's like the verb forms don't sound correct...

Well, I don't speak Norwegian so I don't know what would be the correct translation...

Maybe:
The raven flies...
and:
In the forest, visiting the old speaker (wise man?)

Maybe it should be:
The raven flies in circles in the sky,
above the forest, where he visits the wise old man?

But I don't know, as I don't speak Norwegian...
