Below I have copied/pasted lyrics to Magalenha/Sergio Mendes/Carlinhos Brown.

But I added "Shouts" after te-te-te-te-e-te and, at the end of the song, I added "Improvisation 1", "Improvisation 2", etc. for help with discussion.

If you know Brazilian Portuguese, and you think you understand the improvisations, even if they're silly, please translate. I do not request anyone to rewind 100 times or to go deaf by turning it up loud. There is one improvisation which is my favorite, so that is my priority. I'm obsessed with the fun of singing this song. I want very much to sing these lyrics which are rhythmic in and of themselves, even without the instrumental rhythm.

Question 1) At the end of the song, at 3:11, "Improvisation #4"

Question 2) "Shouts" or noises at :44, :48, :52. I know these are not words but what do you call this noise? Is it popular in Brazilian music? Is it imitating a bird? Or is it like ulu in Arabic lands? Any time you see the word [shouts], it is the exact same noise.

Question 3) Any other improvisational callouts that have clear sounds or actual words.

Question 4) If anyone wants to discuss the interpretation of "te te te coração", I would enjoy. I wonder if in this one line, "te te te" is representative of the heartbeat.

To answer #2: I'm pretty sure it's "scat" (improvised) singing. If there is another meaning, I'd very much like to know what it is.

Don't try to understand songs written by Carlinhos Brown, just an advice from a native Brazilian who knows some of his songs ;)

Be 99% sure that these 'Te te te te-e te' mean absolutely nothing. Are either just vocalizations (which he does a lot) or other guttural sounds. You can leave these in the lyrics, but they don't contribute to anything and have no real meaning.

Ok thank you.

Even knowing that they are just sounds and not even words helps.

It started that I just wanted to sing along, but then I wanted to also know what I was singing.

I would like to find more popular music of his, but maybe I should wait until I learn to calm down and stop obsessing! ;) I can be compulsive and have the emotionalself-control of a child.
