Sonnenallee

[Verse 1]
heard everything, seen everything
I was just underground like a bomb-diver
Darkness and now I marvel at the sunrise
Just a roaring in my ears, that are still ringing from techno
Full of energy, a speedball without a speed limit
I think of nothing, totally empty and it's good like that
Everything spins, not like a carousel, more like a UFO
It'll be a stressful day and I'm not disappointed
That's how it feels when you do everything and regret nothing
For me, today and yesterday have already happened like that
The boundless horizon only comes when we forget
I see the garishness, summer, sun when the morning comes
The doors are closed, for you too, Jim Morrison
I probably need a break after the action
Get myself something to eat, run like Little Riding Hood home
Real life doesn't feel anything like this
I was imprisoned in Fantasia land until just now

[Chorus]
The night is over and my head still hurts
The last stream of tears is dried now
No dark clouds and melted snow
I'm going on the Walk of Fame, Sonnenallee
(2x)

[Verse 2]
I climb tired but happy onto the fountain of youth
And the air turns slowly thin, like after five rounds at the gym
Breathe the morning in, fantastic, how it tastes
Almost perfect and worry-free, I fall into bed
Easy from now on, because I notice love again
Finally satisfied, well, victory over Caligula
Overjoyed and so the wind carries me
Because I can feel wings there, where there still aren't any
I am at the start and fueled up like a rocket
Incredible, that I'm still standing after such a night, wow
Just a short while ago things were looking bad
But now I go laughing from the party of my life
I don't know whether it's love or pure delusions of grandeur
I fly through the city like dandelion seeds
No matter whether on the street or the beach
A whole night long, it was my Fantasia land

[Chorus]
The night is over and my head still hurts
The last stream of tears is dried now
No dark clouds and melted snow
I'm going on the Walk of Fame, Sonnenallee
(3x)

Thanks for translating! Regular smile Here are a few suggestions:

Nur das Rauschen in den Ohren die von Techno klingeln -> Just a roaring in my ears, that are still ringing from techno

Mir ist es heute und auch gestern schon so vorgekommen -> It's seemed that way to me today, and yesterday too

Nur durch vergessen kommt der grenzenlose Horizont -> The boundless horizon only comes when we forget
(Your translation is correct as far as the meaning goes, but it sticks too closely to the German sentence structure for something that should sound colloquial and modern.)

Das echte Leben fühlt sich gar nicht so an -> Real life doesn't feel anything like this
(Beware of the definite articles in front of abstract nouns that German loves)

Ich war bis eben noch gefangen im Fantasialand -> I was imprisoned in fantasy-land until just now

Ich kletter müde aber glücklich auf den Brunnen der verjüngt -> I climb tired but happy onto the fountain of youth

Atme den Morgen ein, fantastisch wie das schmeckt -> Breathe the morning in, fantastic, how it tastes

Easy ab jetzt, denn ich nehme wieder Liebe war -> Easy from now on, because I notice love again

Ich bin am Start und vollgetankt wie 'ne Rakete -> I'm on the starting line, and fueled up/full of fuel like a rocket

Noch bis vor kurzem war die Lage eine Schräge -> Just a short while ago things were looking bad
(The meaning of the figure of the speech, not the literal meaning of each word)

Ich fliege durch die Stadt wie die Blüten eines Löwenzahns -> I float through the city like a dandelion seed

Eine ganze Nacht lang war das mein Fantasialand -> For one night, that was my fantasy-land

Also, I fixed the error in the original text that you mentioned in one of your footnotes-- thanks!

Ah, is there a reason Fantasialand would be fantasy? I thought the 'a' was deliberate, to try to indicate Fantasia instead of Fantasie. Is it just a different spelling?

Why would Blüten be translated as seed? For clarity to English speakers?

I added all the other edits, thank you so much!

"Fantasialand" is not a German word-- it's been made up by the writer of the song. "Fantasia land" just doesn't sound like idiomatic English to me, but actually it might be a better translation for a word that's not idiomatic German, now that I think about it again.

"Blüten" is of course "flowers" or "blossoms," but in English we don't say that dandelion flowers going flying through the air; we say that dandelion seeds go floating through the air. Sometimes translating the meaning of each word works well enough, but sometimes you have to translate the meaning of the whole idiom into an idiom of the target language, rather than just settling for translating the literal meaning of each word, or what sounded perfectly ordinary in the source language ends up sounding strange in the target language.
