If you meant "musical composition", then you can't be serious.
This a good example of a song that many French speakers are fond of and justifiably so probably because of its poetry.
But musically? Aside from the chorus part which ironically is in English it is not even a song in non-French sense. It is reciting
a poem to music.
I apologize if I offended anybody, but not knowing more than 10 words of French, this is my perspective. And I love quite a few French songs, that I consider real songs.

But did you mean that it is a masterpiece of a musical composition?
Just curious. It was not clear. Tastes differ. And the word composition is not necessarily applicable to music only.
