Jazz Me Blues

Down in Louisiana with that sunny clime
They play a class of music that is super fine
And it makes no difference if it's rain or shine
You can hear the jazzin' music playing all the time
It sound so peculiar cause the music's queer
How it's sweet vibration seems to fill the air
Then to you the whole world seems to be in rhyme
You want nothing else but jazzin', jazzin' all the time
Everyone's nice, never hear them sigh
Hear them loudly cry, oh:

(Chorus:)
Jazz me, come on professor and jazz me, jazz me
You know I like my dancin' both day and night
And if I don't get my jazzin', I don't feel right
And if it's ragtime, I want to play it in jazz time, jazz time
Don't want it fast, don't want it slow
Take your time professor, play it sweet and low
I've got those doggone, low down, jazz me, jazz me blues

y si no escucho jazz, me siento mal.
Y si es ragtime quiero tocarlo con tempo de jazz:
no lo quiero rápido ni lento:
tómese su tiempo, profesor, tóquelo con dulzura y tono bajo
que tengo esas malditas melancolías y tengo que alegrarme.

No problem! You can post my translations anywhere as long as you credit me :)

Hi, what’s up? I hope you found my criticism to be helpful and constructive regarding your translation before it was unpublished. Next time you translate songs like this, you should use this translation as a sort of reminder to not translate certain anglicisms literally.

I don't usually translate from English to Spanish, and I agree the original translation was not good. I decided it would be better to request a proper translation.

No problem, but I do still encourage you to try and translate into Spanish when you feel you are able to. Just please look up anything you are not sure of, that’s all I ask, especially when it comes to idioms, expressions and anglicisms. If they cannot be translated literally then try to find a Spanish equivalent.

Thanks, Anto, for a terrific translation!

I have heard of this artist. I love jazz, old ragtime, and folks like Louis Armstrong.

This music would be right at home on Bourbon Street (Calle Borbon, as it was first called by the Spanish).

It was quite a challenge to translate this one but I'm glad that you liked the result! It's a cool song.
