Traducción
Shoreless Shore
I do not understand anything
the soul is depressed
Let us have a look around!
Whole villages are lost!
The strangers have drowned them
Their need has no end
I stand by a shore
a shoreless shore
Let us have a look around!
Old shores are no longer found
The strangers have claimed them
Their need has no end
I see people succumb
on an open sea in a storm
Let us have a look around!
The rights are no longer right
The strangers have claimed
Their need has no end
In my forefathers I see
a tough strong people
Let us have a look around!
We endure gross deeds
The strangers violate us
Their need has no end

Rusia lleva a cabo una guerra vergonzosa contra Ucrania. ¡Defiende a Ucrania!

Lyrics: Paulus Utsi
The title of this poem by Paulus Utsi (1918 - 1975), "Shoreless Shore", refers to the impact of hydroelectric power on the traditional living environment of the indigenous Sámi people. Once a hydroelectric power plant is built vast areas of land upstream are drowned by a reservoir, whereas downstream, the once so mighty river is turned into a creek.
