Voodoo Song

Why do you try to make things complicated
when things are right in front of you?
Blinded by your pride
Don't hold back your body it wants to dance
And the sound that echoes, echoes
Efficient no need to make a fuss, a fuss
A verse(1) that you hum, hum
Move your shoulders and go ahead go crazy, real crazy

(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there)

(That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it!)

But move your head before anything else
But move your head
But move your head
But move your head

Do it it it
Do it it it
Do it it it
On a whim

It's the sort of tune that really gets in your head
Seeing you already act like you're good
Go on don't worry
Move your ass like a pony, pony
That makes even cops twerk, twerk
On a verse that you know
Move your shoulders and go ahead go crazy, real crazy

(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there)

(That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it!)

But move your head before anything else
But move your head
But move your head
But move your head

Do it it it
Do it it it
Do it it it
On a whim

(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there, ha ha!)
(You feel good there)

(That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it, go on express yourself!
That's it!)

But move your head before anything else
But move your head
But move your head
But move your head

Do it it it
Do it it it
Do it it it
Do it it it

But move your head
But move your head
But move your head
But move your head

Do it it it
Do it it it
Do it it it
On a whim

Comentarios del autor:

(1) the word "sample" is in English but essentially corresponds to the French word "échantillon" which in this case is like a sample or an extract of a song... Neither of those words really sounded right to me here, so I just used "verse" (since that's basically just an excerpt of a song anyway)

fais twerker les poulets poulets -> "les poulets" are usually "the cops". "une poule" can mean "a girl"(like "a chick"), though it's a bit dated.
Here I don't know if it's about cops or plain chickens. After all, picturing chickens doing sleazy dances is rather amusing.

True, I wasn’t sure but both ideas are quite amusing! Thanks for your input!
