У сосновых новеньких ворот;

Where are you now, My Fellow Soldiers

In the short nights of May,
Dying down, the fighting came to an end.
So where are you now, my friends fellow soldiers,
My brothers in arms?

I’d walk around the pleasant hour of dusk
Hanging around my new gates made of pine,
Hoping that some soldier I know
Would be brought here by fair winds.
Hoping that some soldier I know
Would be brought here by fair winds.

We both might have things to remember:
How we lived the hardships of war, losing counts of the times...
After victory we would drink,
And pour one more for our fallen friends.

If by any chance you're still not married,
You, my friend, have nothing to worry about,
Our neighborhood, is rich in songs,
And the girls here are really nice.
Our neighborhood, is rich in songs,
And the girls here are really nice.

All our kolkhoz* would help you to build your house,
A good one, that everybody could see:
Here lives a family of a Soviet hero,
Who defended our country by his chest.

In the short nights of May,
Dying down, the fighting came to an end.
So where are you now, my friends fellow soldiers,
My brothers in arms?

So where are you now, my friends fellow soldiers,
My brothers in arms?

Hi, Av! Thank you for your translation. I'm happy my translation was useful, but I just can't get why you translated "За победу мы б по полной осушили" as "After victory we would be full of dread". This line have other meaning, perhaps I failed to convey it in my translation. In other words, he says "We would drink up to the victory, the first short of vodka bottoms up". I hope this one is clearer.

Also this line in your translation sounds to me a bit strange: "I walk at around the hour of sunset.", but I guess you know better than me.
