Coinleach Ghlas An Fhómhair
Ar choinleach ghlas an fhómhair
A stoirín, gur dhearc mé uaim
Ba deas do chois i mbróig'
'S ba ródheas do leagan siubhail1
Do ghruaidh2 ar dhath na rósaí
'S do chóirníní bhí fighte3 dlúith
Monuar gan sinn' ár bpósadh
Nó 'r bórd luinge a' triall 'un siubhail
Tá buachaillí na háite seo
A' gártha 'gus ag éirghe teann
Is lucht na gcochán ard
A' déanamh fairis do mo chailín donn
Dá ngluaiseadh Rí na Spáinne
Thar sáile 's a shlóighte4 cruinn
Bhrúighfinn5 féar is fásach
'S bhéinn ar láimh le mo chailín donn
Dá mbínn agus mo chailín donn
Gluais is tar a chéad-searc
Nó go dtéidh muid thar Ghaoth-Bearra 'nonn
Go sgartar ó na chéile
Barr na gcraobh 'gus an eala ón tuinn
Ní sgarfar sin ó chéile
'S níl dá baois an díbh á chur 'n mur8 gcionn

The Green Stubble-fields of Autumn
On the green stubble-fields of autumn
I saw you, my sweetheart
Nice were your feet in shoes
And wonderful your nimble gait
Your hair the color of roses
And your ringlets tightly plaited
Alas that we're not married
Or on board ship sailing away
The boys around here are
Complaining and getting fired up
And the ones with the high-piled hair
Are making homes for my brown-haired girl
If the King of Spain would
Go abroad with his assembled men
I would trample pasture and wilderness
And I would be with my brown-haired girl
If only my brown-haired girl and I
Were buying cows at the fair
Go and come first love
Until we go over to Gaoth-Bearra
Even if the tops of the branches were parted
And the swan were separated from the waves
That would not separate us
And those who go against us are foolish

La Russie a lancé une guerre honteuse contre l’Ukraine. Soutenez l’Ukraine !
I've changed some of the spelling to bring it more in line with what is sung. These lyrics are in an older form of Irish and although the dialect in which they are sung retains some of these features compared to Standard Irish there were some mistakes, which doesn't impact the translation. I've left most of the original spelling intact and added some comments, unless something else was sung.
Please note: 'gruaidh' should be translated as 'cheeks' and not 'hair' as that is 'gruaig'.
