Singers who are bass players and songs with spectacular bass lines
They say that people criticized Paul for playing too good of a bass line here that could outshine the song itself. I don't think anything can outshine this George Harrison's masterpiece but people were saying that
It is impossible to imagine this song without Paul's bass playing.
Somebody on the Net is telling us, that though this whole song was written by Sting, somebody else is playing bass on the recording.
Not big on singing, but an outstanding jazz bass player - Petros Klampanis
Tina Weymouth shines
Bravo, Max Pokrovsky.
His bass playing isn't bad either, but that's just the icing on the cake
Chris Squire has been as important to Yes as anybody else.
I've been lucky to see Charlie Haden performing live several times including in duos with other legends - Jim Hall, Pat Metheny, Gonsalo Rubalcaba. I always despised his politics, but it never interfered with my appreciation of his musicianship. He has been one of the greatest bass players ever. But I didn't know he could sing. Here's an amazing duet of him and his daughter Petra - a-capella
Phil Lesh is 82 here.
Rosemary Butler sang and played bass in that all-girl band
Janice–Marie Johnson sings and plays pretty bass lines
One of the videos described her as Mary Huff, bass player/vocalist/heartbreaker.
It makes me think of a collection of heartbreakers
