I wouldn’t call these errors, it took me a while to figure out what the heck this line means. ;)
You French, probably touch with your lips or get your lips touched, but in our cold climate, snow can touch our lips
petit élève a écrit :So that would be an accusative (as English defines it: a direct object complement)? i.e. parts of the body use genitive just like animate beings?
Nope, the difference present in the accusative case of plurals is shown below.
And if you say "касается губы" - it will mean that only one of the lips is touched by the snow. :)
These cases are often messed up by sheer natives, so they are really dreadful...
And in these lyrics губы is in the true genitive case -> касается (чего?) (that would be the same in case of animate beings: касается (кого?)
Generally, yeah
(I see/touch a hand/finger)
(I see/touch hands/fingers)
But finger doesn’t really work here, we don’t touch it, and be careful with other body parts too :)
Don’t blame Russian, they have a thing for fingers, or at least one, in English too
Gee, at least one thing we all have in common :) ;)
That’s for the other song
But your interpretations work too :)
Опилки = табуретки
It’s about proof in alcohol. The better the source of moonshine, the more proof it gets

If alcohol wasn’t so strong, they wouldn’t be drunk after 2....5 bottles
"Snow and you" is the subject but emphasised. So to me, it goes like this
It's only snow, snow and you that are with me tonight.
It's only snow, snow and you that will get me swirling
It's only snow that is on my palm, it's only snow and you that are touching my lips
I'll always remember it's snow and you that are waiting for me somewhere
It's only snow and you...Snow and you....
Your translation was great to begin with, just that one line was a little off
Now it is perfect
And I apologize for all those табуретка + posts, I hope it doesn’t bother you:)

This is how I hear these lines:
Not ‘her lips will touch his palm’, but ‘snow and you are on my palm’ and ‘only snow and you touch my lips’
Does it make sense?
