Scooby Doo, hvor er du? [Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!]

Scooby Dooby-Doo, hvor er du
Nå må du bare høre
Scooby Dooby-Doo, hvor er du
Du har en jobb å gjøre

Come on, Scooby Doo.

Scooby Dooby-Doo, her er du
Det svarer seg å lytte
"Du æ'kke til å tru, Scooby Doo"
Du er en ekte svikle

Traduction

Scooby Doo, where are you?

Scooby Dooby-Doo, where are you
Now you got to listen
Scooby Dooby-Doo, where are you
You have a job to do

Come on Scooby Doo.
Dread and horror
You sound like you have a fever
You won't deceive me, for I'm tired
You have filled up your cup

You have lots of unsolved issues
and lots of mysterious things, around
Scooby Doo, if you are sly,
Then you will enjoy my Scooby biscuits

Scooby Dooby-Doo, here you are
It pays to listen
"You are not to be believed in Scooby Doo"
You know how to bamboozle people

Huh? I'm so confused with the English translation also thank you for translating it into English.

AzuraAzura    Jeu, 24/01/2019 - 06:47

To be fair, even if translated correctly, it doesn't make a ton of sense in English.

AzuraAzura    Jeu, 24/01/2019 - 06:38

This is pretty much word for word what Google Translate says, and most of it doesn't even make sense

Sailor PokeMoon2Sailor PokeMoon2    Jeu, 24/01/2019 - 07:04

I originally used Google Translate but because it didn't make any sense I did not copy and paste the English translation result. Whether Google Translate gets used or it's an EXACT word for word English translation, I still didn't understand the English translation 😂

AzuraAzura    Jeu, 24/01/2019 - 07:05

I did my own but it doesn’t really work in English either way honestly.

Well I said on a different app before when I got an English translation that pretty much took the point of the song away from it and I'll say it again, maybe somethings are better left alone and NOT get translated into English. And I think this "opening" was one of them. Thankfully, there is a "new" dub that when translated into English (whether it be with Google Translate or not) actually makes sense!

AzuraAzura    Jeu, 24/01/2019 - 07:11

My theory is that the song is addressing like the bad guys and not Scooby Doo, that way it makes more sense but 🤷🏻‍♀️

What!? And now Scooby is being called a traitor!? 😂😂😂 personally I'd swap out magical with mysterious but that's just me. Still... What the heck?

AzuraAzura    Jeu, 24/01/2019 - 07:09

I think it’s talking about the people who they unmask...... but I don’t know

Maybe so? Or it could be like I had said in my submitted comment which was "Only one episode of the show had been dubbed, which was released on a cartoon compilation DVD.
This could explain why I could not find or get a clear sounding English translation." Sadly cartoon compilation direct to videos are well known for not being very good. Such as translations not making any sense.

I would propose :
Nå må du bare høre > Now you got to listen (hear)
Du lurer ikke meg > You don't deceive me, you won't deceive me
Det svarer seg å lytte > It pays to listen
Du æ'kke til å tru, Scooby Doo > You're not to be believed in, Scooby Doo
P.S. I understand "Du er en ekte svikle" as "You know how to bamboozle people".

JadisJadis    Ven, 25/01/2019 - 15:12

Well, actually "Du lurer ikke meg, for jeg er lei" means "You won't deceive me, for I'm tired". Better not just copy-paste, rather think a little ;)

Well, you're right. But I didn't have enough time to scrutinize it. So I just changed it and decided to check it later.
