Hi

I'd like to add pictures to collections and artists.

All I have is the Microsoft snipping tool and Microsoft Paint.

Could someone pls advise me?

How, for example, do I get the pixel size down to the maximum?

Thanks!!

My advice would be to install IrfanView or Gimp :)
I have no idea how to use the softwares you mentioned.

One needn't even save them on the computer - specifying the URL is enough for uploading artist pictures here.
However, of course only if the file isn't too large. If it is, you need to use some software to resize it.

I tried several avatars and got the "that's too large, make it smaller" error message.

Right now I'm stuck with a library computer, so I'll experiment with URLs and possibly Paint.

Hopefully I can get my own computer soon and get appropriate software.

Oh, how kind, thank you!!

And thanks to all of you!

I can start now but also look ahead to the future. I need to know the latest software too.

You're welcome ^^
But latest software?
I use Gimp since longer than I am registered here.

Okay, experiment with URLs and Paint for now, but switch to Gimp in the future.

Hello, if you need nothing else than changing the size of pictures, I'd recommend you this one: https://www.bricelam.net/ImageResizer/
Its greatest advantage is that it's lean and very easy to use, because it's been made only for that purpose. For further image manipulation I'd also recommend GIMP, version 2.8 :)
