Perhaps some Russian people called finches "canaries", and the appellation has remained. Canaries are subtropical birds as far as I know, they live on Canary Islands (or in cages), I very much doubt that you can encounter them in Russian bushes, even taking the "глобальное потепление" into account. It seems that there have been crossbreedings between genuine canaries and other (local) finches, though, but I think that in the author's mind, canaries are just finches. It would be interesting to find out where and when the finches started to be called "canaries" in Russia, and how far in the people's mind this name has spread. Do nowadays Russians or Ukrainians spontaneously think of some local bird when they hear the word "канареечка" ? I have no idea, but I'm sure that in France, no one would use that name to call a local bird, only the yellow, subtropical Atlantic Canary ("Serinus canaria", usually encountered in cages, as a singing bird - "Domestic canary").

I remember that we already had a discussion once about "Дрозды" ( Дрозды ). Seems that in Russian, it's a generic name, but in French for instance, there seems to be no popular equivalent. If we're talking about a blackbird, than it's a "merle", if a redwing or a thrush, it's a "grive". We have no drozdy... ;(

Переводчик-то тут причём? Нет, чтобы с переводом помочь ;)
Евгений, вам нужно немного над грамматикой и английским смыслом поработать. Я понимаю, что тут ритм и рифма, но местами перевод не совсем гладкий, без оригинала трудно понять, о чем речь идёт. Я не носитель языка и могу быть неправа (поэтому не буду предлагать свои варианты), но меня немного смутили некоторые фразы:
All night and all day you was noisy. —> you WERE, and ‘noisy’ sounds odd, like if the grove was screaming
My heart is suffering in, it has overstrain (ia-ia-yay) —> suffering in WHAT/WHERE? Is ‘overstrain” here a verb? Then use proper tense. If it is a noun, the phrase sounds confusing
Oh, I'm anguish, I feel impossible, —> same here with ‘anguish’ (sounds like «я - мучение»). And how can you “feel imposible”?
Yeah i feel lonely now in the whole world. —> тут тоже как-то бы перефразировать
