Paroles de « The Misfit »
Somebody asked, what's the meaning of jazz?
And I said, we're the misfits
And all I can tell you is while you're still sleepin'
The saint's are still weepin' 'cause
The things you call dead haven't yet had the chance to be born
Once I was old
I got burnt by the pages
I read from the sages
They started my rages
That all through the ages
They kept us in cages
'Cause somebody said you're weird,
And quite possible crazy
We're just lazy, so I said...
It's seem our intelligence is getting things done
'Cause the quarter note base drum has made me numb
Instead of a mystic I feel like a misfit
And now I'm a vegetable going around kissing gravestones
Is there anybody home?
Somebody gave me some seaweed
And then suddenly all that I said was as heavy as lead
And it sunk in the mire that split by the fire
That made transpire this whole silly trip in the first place
Such a social disgrace
