Wide Awake

[Verse 1]
It is so cold
I hope that you don't feel like you're frozen
Not the first time I'm awake on a December night
One hundred thousand mistakes, hope the puzzle is finished soon
What if the thing we have
Disappears with the distance between us

[Pre-Hook]
When I stand here, you are
Not reachable
Stand in the rain, locked here
Time won't pass

[Hook]
There is no we without you, but you know that
There is nothing to say, it's okay to be split in two
'Cause I stand underneath streetlights in another city tonight
I count down the hours until it's day again
And I'm wide awake
And I'm wide awake

[Verse 2]
Another day where I try, but I can't get an answer
Not the first time I have thoughts I'm not able to say
Fall a leap behind, because in my head we're still where we left
So I'm wide awake
And my heart beats out of pace

[Pre-Hook]
When I stand here, you are
Not reachable
Stand in the rain, locked here
Time won't pass

[Hook]
There is no we without you, but you know that
There is nothing to say, it's okay to be split in two
'Cause I stand underneath streetlights in another city tonight
I count down the hours until it's day again
'Cause I stand underneath streetlights in another city tonight
'Cause I stand underneath streetlights in another city tonight

[Bridge]
Rain pours over me
Everything is so dark during this time of year
Thoughts become noise and I
I am wide awake

[Hook]
There is no we without you, but you know that
There is nothing to say, it's okay to be split in two
'Cause I stand underneath streetlights in another city tonight
I count down the hours until it's day again
And I'm wide awake
And I'm wide awake

Thank you very much for your translation! :) But isn't it possible to translate the second sentence of the chorus as "There's no "it's okay" to say when you are split in two"? (if you think away the comma, I don't know why it's there) At least that's how I always interpreted it, but my Norwegian is only at beginner level so correct me if I'm wrong :)

The only other interpretation I could think of is "It isn't something you should say, that it's okay, when you're split in two", but what I wrote in the translation is what made the most sense to me. What you are suggesting, doesn't make any sense at all, I'm afraid.

Okay thanks for clarifying, I personally do think your second translation makes more sense though, especially if you look at the context. The sentence that comes before says "There's no we without you", so that's why I thought it would make more sense to interpret it as "You can't say "it's okay" when you are split in two" because that makes a nice parallelism. And if you translate it as "it's okay to be split in two", how does that make sense in the context? Judging by the rest of the text, she doesn't seem to be okay at all. I think it makes more sense she isn't okay because she is split in two.
