My Land

Versions : #1#2#3#4
Where are you going, where?*
I am going with myself from east to south.

Where are you going, where?
I am going with myself from south to west.

Where are you going, where?
I am going with myself from west to north.

There he comes, running up
With the flag in his hand,
My land, my land.*

You are here in my land,
My land, my land.

You are here in my land,
My land.

Where are you going, where?
I am going with myself from north to east.

Where are you going, where?
I am going with myself from east to west.

Where are you going, where?
I am going from country to country alone.

And nothing and no one
invites me to stay
My land, my land.

You are here in my land,
My land, my land.

You are here in my land,
My waves and my beach,
Yes....

A voice in the light,
The sky falls from the face
The horizon tears in two
Where are you going, nothing here is free* anymore.

That is my land.
That is my land.
That is my land.

My land, my land.
You are here in my land.

To sell, my land.
To sell, my land.
To forget, my land.
I can stay nowhere,
My land.

* Translators notes:
-Wohin literally means "where to".
-Land can be translated as land or country. I use both but in many cases they are interchangeable.
-Frei means free in the sense of liberty, not gratuity. E.G. this land is free.

In German, mit mir can also mean "by myself" not necessarily "with myself" since mit can be defined as by; by being in the sense of how the person traveled, by myself, and not as a description of how far from something.
The lyrics make more sense with this interpretation and can be understood as
"I go alone from... to ...".
