- 1. The original German lyrics are about hard-boiled eggs, not about carrots. However, since the lyrics are nonsensical anyway and based on a pun that revolves around the words "PapagEI" (parrot) and "Ei" (egg), I decided to chance it to something else so that the idea comes across more clearly.

Hm, wörtlicher ist es auf jeden Fall. Ich finde aber, dass "ein selten dummes..." auch so eine dahingesagte Floskel ist, ähnlich wie "he's some stupid..." auf Englisch. "He is an extraordinarily dumb animal" ist mir ein bisschen zu lang, das tut dem Rhythmus nicht gut. Ich überleg nochmal.

Ich würde auch zu der bestehenden Übersetzung tendieren, das klingt im Englischen natürlicher.
