White Roses

संस्करण: #1#2#3#4
It's a bit warmer behind the glass, but the evil frosts...
I'm entering through these doors as if in a garden of July flowers.
I so want to warm them, but these white roses...
And to kiss them in front of everyone and be ready to caress them.
I so want to warm them, but these white roses...
And to kiss them in front of everyone and be ready to caress them.

White roses, white roses,
Defenseless thorns.
What have the snow and frosts
And the ice of blue shop windows done to them?
People decorate their holiday with you
Only for a few days
Then leave you to die
At the cold white window.

People take you home, and late in the evening
Let your festive light fill all the windows in the garden
Whose idea was it to raise you in winter, oh white roses,
And bring you into a world of cruel blizzards and cold winds?
Whose idea was it to raise you in winter, oh white roses,
And bring you into a world of cruel blizzards, and cold winds?

White roses, white roses,
Defenseless thorns.
What have the snow and frosts
And the ice of blue shop windows done to them?
People decorate their holiday with you
Only for a few days
Then leave you to die
At the cold white window.

I got really interested why you used "folks" instead of "people" in the line:
"Folks will decorate their holiday with you"
Perhaps it is reasonable, but... why did you do that?:)

"People" is more official, like people of earth, we came in peace.
Folks - it is more colloquial - my folks all fond of this new TV show (our family likes tv show)

Thank you both for suggestions. I initially thought "folk" would work better as my intent was to preserve the rendition more as a story--though "people" seems to be better for aesthetic reasons. Fun song to translate and I also took a few minor liberties. Again, thanks -
