Is it possible to customize a url display similar to this form :

[url=http://www.some-url.com]custom name[/url]

so that on screen the url would appear only as 'custom name'? if not, could you please consider it?

Thanks!

Normally you can find all formatting options supported here at https://lyricstranslate.com/en/filter/tips

BBCode (that what you tried to use) isn't supported here for that but XHTML:

linktext

or, with some blanks:
linktext

The link should be to the translator's main page.

You forgot the first ".
I normally copy this code from somewhere else when I need to use it (which is not often). When I try to write it down myself I somehow manage to always make a mistake. I've never learned writing HTML, only BBCode.
