I have a question, do you think if the button of "Thanks" be like a heart form, people would use it more?, I know the buttons of LT are green and rectangular but If it be like a heart form with red color, people would use it more, for example one of my translations has been read 10000 times and only 8 thanks
It's not very important for me but that's an undeniable fact that thanks make authors happy and make them improve themself for more translations, even top translators say that thanks make them happy.

Anyways maybe it's not possible to change these things but I wanted to say my opinion, thanks.

It's a nice idea. Readers seem quite tight considering thanks. A competitive world... Regular smile

I also think that's a great idea .I think many people are used to these hearts system from social media and many of them don't even know or are not familiarized with "thanks" button and I think that's why they don't use it that much, so we sometimes have many views but only few "thanks"

I wouldn't have anything against this, but your idea has some problems.
First thing, it's too reminiscent of some social media. I don't know about other people, but I would personally prefer LyricsTranslate to be a simple translation website and not a place where you can put your life on ths spotlight. There are other platforms where you can do that.
Also, and this is the biggest problem, the red heart symbol is already used to mark a song/ artist/ collection/ translation as "favourite". The "favourites" category is maybe not really prominent for many, but if we use the same symbol for two different features, then it's going to be really confusing for people.
Plus I like the minimalist and retro style of this website, it makes it stand out from other mainstream websites.

Double negative = positive.

Corrected it. People around me speaking in their dialects frequently use the double negative, so sometimes I happen to use it too.

1)
If any red heart reminds you to those social medias so LT should remove all of those hearts you've mentioned them, I told that's an undeniable fact that any author will be happy if he/she understand that people liked his/her translations,
I also said that even top translators have said in their profile "don't hesitate to tap on the Thanks if you liked my work."
It still could be green but with heart form it maybe would be better
2)
If 2 heart confuse people so these green rectangles should confuse people too
In the page of any translation I see only 1 small heart above the lyric that has wrote beside it "add to favorite" and I think people who come to this site can read the word "Thanks"
3)
It's good, everyone has his own taste, plus this thing is not gonna be a big change

Mn, well, it could be something like a little thumbs up icon instead if doubling up on symbols is a problem. Personally I think a small icon like this next to the "Thanks" text would be a nice visual cue for people.

Well, it's more about the heart symbol for a "thank you" that reminds me of that.
Green rectangles don't confuse anyone because you can clearly see what's written on them. If you write a little "thank you" besides the heart, it could work, but I'm still not a fan of the idea.
Anyway, we should wait for a mod to get the idea to the admins. If they like it, it'll be implemented. At the minute, I think this could only work if you write "thank you" somewhere near the heart symbol.

Well, maybe the problem is that the "Thanks" button is too far below. Most people (not familiar with LT) won't scroll past the lyrics (if they are too long). Many users have a signature that appears below their translations, and some of them are quite long (especially if you're using a smartphone), and then you have the Info, then the Submitter's comment, AND THEN the Thanks button. So, people probably just stop there and don't even get to see the button.

What about adding one at the top too? Like somewhere around the top right corner.

Yes the button of Thanks is too far below but as you said many people use smartphone for visiting LT and they scroll down the page and most of them don't scroll back and I think that's why the button of Thanks shouldn't be on the top and the place in the below of the translation is good but it would better if it come a little above (In the place of the signs Facebook & Twitter & Google+ , I'm not sure people use them signs a lot)
And the button of Thanks be like a heart form with any color and the word Thanks could be written inside it or beside it,
All of these depend on admins' decision

No, no. I was saying that we need one on the top and another one at the bottom (forgot to mention that part). But it would be better if it was heart shaped like u said, so it doesn't look bad.

It's not about the ability or inability of reading but it's just for making it seem friendlier psychologically to encourage people who liked that translation to tap on it
